On December 12th, it was announced that Cherry Hill West Chamber Singers took 3rd place in the B101 Christmas Choir Competition for their rendition of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and won $1,000 for the West Music Program.
The Christmas Choir Competition is an annual event that takes place during the holiday season to showcase the musical talent of school-age choirs in the K-8 level and high school level. At different times during the day, the radio station would play the songs from each of the groups and encourage voting for a group of choice.
First place won $5,000, second place won $2,000, and third place won $1,000, according to B101. Each cash prize goes directly to the school’s music program.
Students at West were heavily encouraged to vote for Chamber throughout the week, and they did not disappoint. Since there were unlimited votes, students, family, and friends were able to vote as many times as they wanted.
The West community rallied together to ensure the Chamber Singers secured their spot as a finalist and winner of the $1,000 prize for their program.
