#RockYourSocks Campaign Comes to Close

Students, faculty and staff worked hard to spread the word about the need for socks through the #RockYourSocks Campaign. On December 16, 2015 Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno launched the campaign at West. This initiative helps homeless young adults (age 18-21) through donations of socks to the Covenant House. Typically, donors consider the need for clothing but socks are the least given item as part of volunteer donations. With the help of students, faculty and staff at Cherry Hill West, the news spread throughout the whole school and eventually branched out to the community. Some of the notable participants include mayor Chuck Cahn, the Chief of Police, Dr. Meloche and Dr. Morton.  Through the use of #RockYourSocks on Twitter, the number of people involved grew rapidly. As soon as this simple donation campaign launched, students had fun getting involved. Donations for the Covenant House were accepted through the end of January.
