The FOP Party is imminent! This event, also known as the Fraternal Order of Police Party, is an annual party hosted for disabled students all around the district and is a fun way to start off the holiday season. This event is hosted by the Student Government Organizations from East and West and the Cherry Hill Police Department. It will occur on Monday, December 18th, 2023, during the school day at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near the Garden State Park shopping center. This event is also the 49th year that the FOP Party has been hosted, so it will be prominent and pretty influential next year for the 50th.
Cherry Hill high school students will volunteer to help during the event. This could be from making decorations to accompanying the kids to the party. Though this event would not be possible without the the help of everyone who decorated, helped organize the party, Mr. Broadbelt (the teacher who runs the Student Government Organization at West and Mr. Davis (the teacher that runs East Student Activities), and to the people who advertised the event.

Two weeks before the event, students from both high schools helped make decorations such as presents, letters, and snowflakes which will soon be displayed and distributed during the event. Many are excited to have a chance to watch and experience such a fun and sensational event. This event is a great way to unify the schools and students and to help form a stronger bond with younger and older students in our schools.
One of the most essential parts of the event is at the end, where kids enter the Santa Room to meet the big fat jolly man, who knows all the kids’ names. This part of the event brings a lot of joy to the kids as it makes them happy to see someone they’ve believed in for many years while also getting into the Christmas spirit.

Overall, this event is undoubtedly one of the most significant to the Cherry Hill district. It brings volunteers and students together and allows disabled kids throughout the community to have fun before Winter Break. Christmas only occurs once a year, and so does this event, so I encourage you to help and go all out for the disabled students in our district. If you have any questions about this event or SGO (Student Government Organization), contact Mr. Broadbelt at [email protected].
