A Better Way for Animals

One animal every 10 seconds is abused in the US which makes about 3.2 million animals a year. This creates a big problem that not only includes the animals we have as pets and the animals around us, but the food we eat and the animal skin we wear. Instead of caging the animals we should let them roam free, and create a better way for the animals to live at least some of their life. We should stop taking advantage of and be grateful for the animals we eat and the produce they provide.

Humans enjoy the benefits from what farm animals provide. Humans slaughter them and abuse their power when it comes to dealing with them. We should be grateful for what we take from the animals and not abuse this power. We can do this by giving animals more room to roam and a better life.

According to an article by AnimalEquality.net, cows are impregnated for the milk they produce and are even bred to produce more than they can naturally cope with. The calves, soon after birth, are taken away from their mothers to be put back into the system. Male chicks that are produced are not useful in the meat industry and are gassed at just a day old. The females spend their lives crammed up into tiny cages. After the female chickens’ egg production has decreased, they are slaughtered. Sows are pigs used for breeding in the meat industry; they are forcibly impregnated, and then separated from their young ones after birth.

We as humans have so many freedoms that sometimes we forget to remember the animals and the world we are affecting in the process. It’s not fair to me and to many humans, who realize what is really going on, that humans that don’t care about the animals or the earth are making such a negative impact. We can shut down or renew the way that factories and “farms” run the meat and dairy businesses. By promoting free-range farming in which the animals are given an open plot of land and are given a healthier more natural way of living, we help promote and cherish the lives of many animals. If you eat meat produced this way, it leads to a much happier outcome for you and the food you are eating.
