Girls Cross Country Advances to States

Saturday, November 4th was an exciting day for the West Girls Cross Country team. The team placed 5th at South Jersey Group 3 sectionals and it is the first time they have ever ever made it to States.

The girls placed 5th in the meet on Saturday. The top 5 teams advance to the state meet on Saturday, November 11th, where they will run against all the other groups. The girls that ran on Saturday are Keller Bean, Emily Santana, Liz Santana, Cammy Wright, Mirasha Williamson, Cassaundra Hoch and Sally Johnston. The other girls on the team include Melissa Palladino, Sophie Ungerleider, Mady Engelman, Mary Solomon, Eliana Birnbaum, Maddy Harrison, Tram Ho, and Lia Almonte. The managers of the team are Danielle Rash, Tiffany Hasenpat and Alissia Phillips. Before this year of running for the girls the best they’d ever placed at the Sectional meet was 8th.  The team is lead by Coach Maggie Strimel.
