On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, there was an informational Zoom meeting about Dual Credit.  It was hosted by a representative from Camden County College, or CCC, named Don Delaney.  This meeting provided information to those interested in dual credit for their high school classes.

The idea is that if a student takes a certain course, mainly Honors and AP classes, they could be eligible for a dual credit option.  If registered, students can get college credits for classes they’re taking currently.  Students won’t have to do any extra work for the class either.  The cost of registration is $150 per course and the registration deadline is March 11, 2022.  The only requirement is that the classes’ final grade is a C or higher, but some courses, such as World Language, require a B.

The way this works is that once a student registers, the become a student of Camden County College in the system.  (This does not mean they have to go to CCC.)  Then, when they are

ready to go to college, the transcript from Camden County College transfers to the college of the student’s choice. If the credits transfer, the student does not need to take as many classes in college, since they already have the credits.  However, it’s important to note that not all colleges offer transferability.  Delaney estimated that about 9 out of 10 schools accept these credits.
